Applications in the Desulphurization And Denitrification Industry
1.Desulfurization (Flue Gas Desulfurization): Caustic soda flakes are used in flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems to remove sulfur dioxide (SO2) and other sulfur compounds from exhaust gases produced by coal-fired power plants and industrial boilers. The reaction between sodium hydroxide and sulfur dioxide results in the formation of sodium sulfite or sodium bisulfite, which can be further oxidized to form sodium sulfate.
